in North Carolina...
By JEFFERSON WEAVER, Staff Writer
An employee at Danaher Control was seriously burned Thursday morning after an explosion at the Danaher facility in Elizabethtown.
Fire Chief Jamie Fulk of Station 55 Elizabethtown said the incident was reported around 7:15 a.m. The worker was apparently pouring a chemical into a container of solder when static electricity sparked the blaze.
Danaher employees used fire extinguishers on the blaze and called 911. The worker's injuries were not life-threatening, Fulk said.
Station 55 and Bladen County EMS were assisted by units from Station 58 White Lake and Station 53 Dublin.
The worker's name and condition were not available due to federal health privacy laws.
