Chemical 'Splosion at Iowa Factory
STORY CITY, Iowa An investigation is under way into a late-night explosion and fire at a company in Story City in central Iowa.
Firefighters were called to the American Packaging plant around eleven p-m. Workers were being evacuated.
K-C-C-I T-V in Des Moines reports one person was taken to the hospital with injuries while three others were exposed to chemicals. There was no immediate word on their conditions.
Fire officials used foam and blankets to smother the chemical fire and get rid of the fumes.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. (KCCI-TV in Des Moines)
